Be accountable for the delivery of multi-disciplinary safe evidence based, patient centred neonatology services as well as providing clinical services within the Grantley Stable Neonatal Unit.

The Clinical Director of Neonatology will be accountable for the delivery of multi-disciplinary safe evidence based, patient centred neonatology services as well as providing clinical services within the Grantley Stable Neonatal Unit. The Clinical Director will also be operationally responsible for the delivery of effective, innovative and provide fiscal oversight of neonatology services at RBWH. The role will also participate in quality programs, continuing education and career development for staff, clinical teaching within the Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital, and undertake and lead relevant Neonatal clinical research and translation.

  • Demonstrated training and experience in the speciality of Neonatology.
  • Demonstrated ability and experience in undergraduate and postgraduate medical education and a record as a professional role model in the discipline.
  • Proven high-level communication skills, and the ability to provide clinical leadership when working with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Demonstrated commitment to continuous quality improvement principles and practice;
    and experience in the development and implementation of successful initiatives in improving the efficiency and effectiveness of clinical services.
  • Demonstrated and sustained contributions to the advancement of the objectives of relevant professional organisations / committees, providing expert consultancy/advisory services to health-related agencies, as well as the ability to successfully engage and lead change within a broad stakeholder group.
  • Demonstrated ability to actively participate in a working environment supporting quality human resource management practices including employment equity, anti-discrimination, occupational health and safety, and ethical behaviour.
