Role Description

An exciting leadership opportunity exists for an experienced Medical Specialist to join a leading regional health service in Bendigo, Victoria (all specialities will be considered).
As the Clinical Director, you will provide clinical management and leadership to the Ambulatory and Critical Care directorate, reporting directly to the Chief Operations Officer (Operationally) the Chief Medical Officer (Professionally). This role will work closely with the Clinical Unit Heads such as such as Cardiology, Emergency Department (ED), and Intensive Care Unit (ICU), Director of Nursing, Medical Workforce Unit and other Clinical Directors.

The Ambulatory and Critical Care Team

The Ambulatory and Critical CareDirectorate portfolio includes:

  • Emergency Department
  • Intensive Care Unit
  • Ward 6A (Short Stay Observation Unit, Assessment &
    Treatment Unit)
  • Renal Services
  • Diagnostic Cardiology and EEG

Required skills and attributes

Fellowship or equivalent degree enabling full unconditional registration with AHPRA. Fellow of an applicable college training program with significant clinical experience working at a senior level. All medical specialities will be considered. Experience in senior medical leadership within a medical service, budgetary knowledge, proven ability to develop and maintain effective service interactions required in the operation of a busy ambulatory and critical care team and understanding of funding implications.

The Clinical Operations Division encompasses acute, allied health, cancer and mental health services. We provide a wide range of general medical, surgical and specialty services including but not limited to;
Oncology, Cardiology, Renal, Emergency, Women's and Children's, Critical Care, Specialist Clinics, Cancer Clinics and Mental Health Services. Our Allied Health teams provide a diverse range of programs and person centred care in inpatient, outpatient, community, home and residential care settings.
