Child & Youth Mental Health Nurse

The Role:
We're looking for a competent Mental Health Clinical Nurse with demonstrated experience in working with adolescents between the ages of approximately 12 - 18 years old.
This inpatient unit is an acute care adolescent mental health unit with a capacity of 8 beds with an average length of stay of 7 to 14 days. The unit admits young people from across the whole of the Northern Region. The target population is 12-18-year old with mental illness who are not able to be treated adequately in the community because of the complexity or acuity of their needs.
The Location:
This contract is in a coastal city in northeastern Queensland. The esplanade, with its pier and water park, are very popular as is the reef aquarium with marine life and coral from the Great Barrier Reef, plus a sea turtle hospital! Southeast of the city, there is a wildlife park home to koalas, wombats and crocodiles. Offshore, a stunning tropical island is a short 20 minute ferry ride away and has coral reefs and a national park full of wildlife.
