The Fair WorkCommission (FWC) requires Australian citizenship as a condition ofengagement.

To beeligible for employment with the Commission, the successfulapplicant must undergo and satisfy a National Police Check. Thisposition requires the successful candidate to hold, or be willingand able, to obtain a Baseline security clearance.

About the Position

Reporting tothe Executive Director, Enabling Services, the Chief FinancialOfficer (CFO) has responsibility for leading a small team withresponsibility for the Fair Work Commission's (theCommission's) financial compliance, planning andmanagement.

TheCFO's responsibilities are part of the core enablingfunctions of the Commission, supporting effective service deliveryto both internal and external stakeholders.

Duties

  • Manageand oversee the Commission's payroll functions (whichinclude the remuneration of statutory appointments andpensioners), and other major organisational projects (includingoffice accommodation, delivery of ICT projects, and businesstransformation).
  • Maintainexcellent working relationships with a range of internal andexternal stakeholders including the Commission's SeniorManagement Group and other APS agencies, particularly theDepartment of Finance, and external and internalauditors.
  • Managingthe Commission's travel process.
  • Coordinate developmentof annual operating, capital, and program budgets, as well asreporting for the same
  • Providespecialist strategic advice and guidance on major commitmentsor projects.
  • Managethe Commission's property portfolio including leasenegotiations and building maintenance.
  • Supportthe development of New Policy Proposals (NPP), machinery ofgovernment changes, and engagements with strategic partnerswithin the industrial relations sector.
  • Providespecialist and strategic advice to the General Manager,Executive team and senior management on financial risks andperformance, financial management and the development ofbudgets and resource allocations, and contribute as a member ofthe Major Investments Committee.
  • Lead aculture of innovation to enhance the governance and financialmanagement frameworks through the application of and transitionto digital platforms.
  • Otherduties as directed by the Executive Director, EnablingServices.
