The Company

Robert Half are exclusively partnering with a not-for-profit organisation who are going through a period of change and as a result are hiring a newly created role for a strategic Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to steer the financial strategy of the organisation. Initially collaborating closely with the CEO, you will lead the charge in updating the financial strategy and overseeing critical initiatives like establishing a Project Management Office (PMO). Transitioning into implementation, you'll uplift the organisation's financial operations and drive organizational efficiency.

Responsibilities

Reporting into the CEO and working as party of the Executive Leadership team, your responsibilities will include but not limited to:

Financial Management and Compliance:

  • Manage financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and statutory financial reporting.
  • Ensure project finance compliance and reporting.
  • Oversee taxation, billing affairs, and cash flow management.
  • Manage relationships with investment managers and oversee investment analysis.
  • Supervise Finance and PMO personnel, ensuring compliance with regulations.
  • Manage external auditor and bank relationships, ensuring compliance with accounting standards.
  • Conduct internal audits and controls to mitigate risks.
  • Oversee commercial decision-making processes.

Strategic Leadership

  • Develop and implement financial strategy in collaboration with the CEO and Board, setting growth targets.
  • Ensure compliance with statutory and corporate governance procedures and the company's constitution.
  • Provide financial advice to the CEO and Board on strategic and operational financial matters.
  • Present financial insights to ELT, Board, committees, and non-finance stakeholders.
  • Lead collaborative financial planning processes and budget proposal development.
  • Implement robust financial and corporate management systems to enhance efficiency and decision-making.
  • Conduct research on revenue opportunities, market changes, and cost efficiencies.

Your Profile

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Accounting, or Economics
  • Professional certification (CPA)
  • 10+ years of senior financial managerial experience
  • Strong decision-making skills
  • Results-oriented with exceptional interpersonal communication and leadership skills
  • Integrity, ethics, and dependability
  • Strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to work under pressure and collaborate with senior management
  • Advanced computer software skills, including Excel and financial reporting software
