About the team

Due to an internal move, an exciting opportunity has arisen here at AGL, for a Category Manager.

You will be part of the Procurement team to develop and lead Procurement activities relating to the Integrated Energy Business Units, with annual addressable spend exceeding $800 million per annum. To align with AGL's strategic objectives, this portfolio includes Thermal, Gas, Hydro and Wind generation assets, with exposure to Operations and Maintenance, Plant, Equipment and Consumables.

What you'll be doing

Reporting to the Procurement Manager - Integrated Energy, you will be responsible for the planning and execution of sourcing activities to select suppliers capable of fulfilling AGL's needs, and for the on-going stewardship of particular areas of external spend.

This role will achieve success through effective influencing and collaboration with key internal project stakeholders, external suppliers and procurement representatives when developing and executing category plans for complex and major addressable spend initiatives. This role will deliver commercial outcomes across AGL, including taking the lead in Infrastructure Energy procurement activities to deliver value inline with AGLs governance systems and processes.

Specific accountabilities and activities include:

• Category Stewardship
• Planning of Sourcing Activities
• Completion of Internal Analysis
• Execute Market Engagements
• Documentation of Outcomes
• Support contract fulfilment and improvement to promise throughout the lifecycle
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders

What you'll bring to the table

• Preference for at least 5 years' experience in Procurement or Supply Chain Sourcing roles. (Alternative relevant industry experience in other Functional areas would also be considered e.G. Finance, Commercial, Operations).
• Experience in strategic sourcing and developing commercial arrangements and capture of outcomes in contract documentation.
• Proven ability to identify and deliver total cost reduction and efficiency opportunities.
