Lycopodium is currently recruiting for a Business Development Lead to join our newly established Process Industries team in Perth.

Reporting to the Business Development Manager the Business Development Lead will be responsible for the management and coordination of all sales and marketing activities on a national basis for all WA based opportunities. You will be key in leading the business development initiatives in line with the company's strategic plan through the management of all activities related to identification, development and maintenance of quality business opportunities.

The tasks you'll perform

  • Manage activities related to tendering and acquisition of new business opportunities.
  • Maintain the currency and quality of all marketing and business development related materials, with particular focus on tender and proposal inputs.
  • Provide new and existing business analysis to the organisation.
  • Obtain, analyse and distribute market intelligence.
  • Coordinate the submission of tenders/proposals in conjunction with the BD Manager as appropriate to ensure that tenders and proposals are issued on time and to a high standard.
  • Obtain information on the outcome of unsuccessful tenders, to allow improvement of market understanding and future tender performance.
  • Establish and maintain a master list of project opportunities for the market in WA, qualify opportunities and identify the winning strategy.
  • Establish a list of key clients in market and develop strategies in conjunction with the BD Manager and other Group Managers as appropriate, for establishing long term relationships.
  • Preparation and submission of tenders/proposals in conjunction with the BD Manager and as appropriate.

The expertise you'll bring

  • Formal qualifications in Engineering, Commerce or equivalent.
  • Circa 10+ years' experience and 5+ years'experience in a comparable role, with relevant industrial processes sector experience being highly desirable.
  • Aptitude for identifying new market opportunities and designing solutions.
  • A sound understanding of the market and an ability to think both analytically and strategically to meet the organisation's internal needs, as well as market fluctuations and demands.
  • Ability to build and sustain positive, long-lasting relationships with all stakeholders, including clients, vendors and co-workers.
  • An outward focus on creating value for our clients' business.
  • Commitment to achieve tight timeframes from Clients on generation and submission of new proposals.
  • Ability to plan and act strategically to meet the organisation's business plans.
