• Part-time (0.5FTE), Continuing position
• Salary Academic Level A ($76,880 - $104,280) / Level B ($109,770 - $130,355) + 17% Superannuation and Flexible Working Arrangements
• Based at the Melbourne CBD campus, but may be required to work and/or be based at other campuses of the University

About the Role
The Associate Lecturer/Lecturer is expected to contribute to the teaching and research efforts of the School in disciplines relevant to print, and related contemporary art interdisciplinary fields, including digital and other reprographic technologies.
An Associate Lecturer will use their expertise and assist in the academic and administrative, consultative and coordination tasks involved with these courses. It is expected that the Associate Lecturer will work under support and guidance to develop expertise in teaching and research with an increasing degree of autonomy.
A Lecturer is responsible for carrying out teaching activities within undergraduate, Honours and Masters programs and for maintaining and advancing their scholarly, research and/or professional capabilities. The Lecturer is also expected to actively promote the program by establishing and maintaining memberships, links and partnerships with academic, industry and professional communities.
To be successful for level A appointment, you will have:

• Demonstrated ability to prepare and teach programs at undergraduate and post-graduate levels, including online delivery, and the ability to produce high quality curriculum or program materials in print, and related contemporary art interdisciplinary fields, including digital and other reprographic technologies.
• Demonstrated capacity to work effectively with and to negotiate sensitively with students especially on issues related to effective learning and communicating about diverse lived experiences.
• Emerging track record and recognition for quality research outputs which will contribute to existing Art Discipline and School of Art research areas evidenced by publications, commissions, exhibition history, development of new research initiatives, competitive research funding, and industry links.

In addition to the above criteria, to be successful for level B appointment, you will also have:

• Ability to undertake course coordination and convening roles independently
• Demonstrated ability to supervise higher degree by research candidates.
• Ability to build effective networks with colleagues, and the contemporary art sector and generate alternative funding for projects through effective liaison with industry and government.

Qualifications
Mandatory for Level A:
Qualification in the relevant discipline area and have commenced or enrolled to commence your PhD.
Mandatory for Level B:
PhD or equivalent in relevant field

About the Print Studio
The print studio offers students a holistic approach to art making through reproductive technologies from traditional analogue presses to contemporary digital printers. With individual studios and communal workshops, students access industry-level facilities to research and experiment with concepts and processes facilitated by renowned print practitioners. In the undergraduate BA Fine Art program studies include artist books, digital imaging, intaglio-etching, dry point and engraving, relief printing, lithography, analogue and digital photographic technologies, print-based installation and screen printing.
The Art Discipline aims to support both specialised studio practices and to enable interdisciplinary learning experiences and research opportunities. Print at RMIT is a distinct studio identity but is also aligned with related image-based practices including painting, drawing and photography.
