Where you'll be working
You'll be working within the Workforce Planning and Talent Development Branch (WPTD) of the NSW Ministry of Health. The Branch is responsible for workforce and talent strategies across the NSW health system, to improve health outcomes for the people of NSW.


About the Role
The Associate Director is responsible for leading implementation and driving the success of NSW Health's state-wide strategy for contingent labour / locum vendor management, with a particular initial focus on specialist and non specialist medical practitioners.

The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the implementation of a new vendor management platform across the health system, overseeing and ensuring consistency of enterprise systems and processes, being the central point of contact with agencies, holding agencies accountable and driving high performance, and associated intersecting work activities.

The role will work closely with colleagues within the branch responsible for strategic talent acquisition initiatives to improve NSW Health Local Health Districts and Specialty Networks (LHD/SN) locum recruitment performance.

The role also leads the Manager, Vendor Management, who is responsible for ensuring the smooth roll out of the state-wide locum vendor management system and supported initiatives to improve medical locum management and performance for NSW public health organisations.

The Associate Director is the primary source of advice on enterprise vendor management systems and agency performance for the NSW Ministry of Health and LHD/SNs, with a particular focus on, but not limited to, specialist and non-specialist medical practitioners engagement. The role is reform and implementation-focused, with the task of re-engineering policies, processes, systems and structures to deliver better outcomes for all NSW Health.

  • This role requires extensive stakeholder management and engagement, with both internal NSW health recruiters and with external recruitment agencies. Please outline your expertise and experience in successfully managing multiple stakeholders with differing needs and holding stakeholders accountable to contract deliverables.
