Do you have a passion for Aged Care? The Aged Care Rapid Response Team (ARRT) is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to assist in the coordination of the response to Residential Aged Care Facilities.

This position requires working evenings and weekend.

Where you'll be working

The Aged Care Rapid Response Team (ARRT) Clinical Nurse Specialist Grade 2 (CNS2) coordinates comprehensive hospital avoidance strategies to provide optimal care for people aged 70 and over within Residential Aged Care Facilities and the community. The Clinical Nurse Specialist Grade 2 (CNS2) facilitates appropriate fast track to diagnostics, assessment and treatment, with the aim of avoiding presentation to hospital. The Aged Care Rapid Response Team (ARRT) aims to offer extended hours of service, operating from 8 am to 8 pm Monday to Sunday

The purpose of the Clinical Nurse Specialist Grade 2 (CNS2) position is to provide senior nursing clinical leadership in the development of specialist clinical practice and service delivery within a nursing unit, team or service.


The CNS employs advanced clinical skills and exercises extended autonomy of decision-making working closely with managers and other senior clinicians.

People of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander background encouraged to apply.

Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:

  • Current registration as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Nurse Health Practitioner Regulation Authority (AHPRA) with relevant post-registration qualifications and at least 3 years' experience working in the the speciality of Aged Care and /or Community Nursing, post-graduate qualification or such other qualifications or relevant equivalent experience.
  • Demonstrated skills in comprehensive assessment of older people, and knowledge and/or experience working with Aged Care and Rehabilitation Services and community care.
  • Demonstrated well developed written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills, including computer skills, with demonstrated experience in or willingness to learn and use electronic clinical/medical/patient information and reporting systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively and problem solve both independently and as a member of the multidisciplinary team.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of and/or experience in initiating and implementing changes to improve clinical service delivery and outcomes through evidence-based practice and practice development.
  • Demonstrated ability to undertake quality improvement activities and promote an environment that encourages the application of these principles.
