Airbus in Australia has an opportunity for an Account Director to join a team of experienced professionals in Sydney, NSW.

About the role

The Account Director is to ensure implementation and achievement of the company's goals, objectives and business development strategies in connection with marketing of aircraft spare parts, concepts and services to all customers within the assigned market area.

The position will require regular business travel within the Pacific Region (Australia, New Zealand and Pacific Islands) and to other parts of the world as required.

Associated responsibilities of the position include:

  • Active contribution in strategy development &
    implementation, and execution on regional business development campaigns and/or regional roadmaps including initiatives and company strategic developments in cooperation with the key internal stakeholders
  • Continue developing the company's market position in connection with current distributorships, and report to Management and other relevant functions about potential new distributorship opportunities
  • Provision of market feedback to relevant business functions and Management (both positive and proposed areas of improvement) to support the growth and competitive positioning
  • Create and execute customer account plans including monitoring customers and competitive landscape and provision of regular updates to Management and relevant functions
  • General customer support including follow up on customer contacts and plans, distribution of price lists to customers, general follow up and provide assistance on collection of outstanding customer payments
  • Identify relevant actions to mitigate poor paymaster performance of high risk and/or delinquent customers
  • Assist in optimal coordination of relevant tasks between the company's functions in close cooperation with Management
  • Assist Product Management furnishing the company's suppliers with information on market conditions and support on customer meetings
  • To contribute to and attend the company's QBRs with suppliers and other meetings

About you

To be successful in this role, it is a requirement to be able to work in a high performing environment, have exceptional stakeholder engagement and expectation management skills as well as good verbal and written skills.

You will need to be someone who is able to work autonomously and to tight deadlines and work comfortably in a continuous improvement work environment.

The knowledge, skills and experience best suited to this role include:

  • Tertiary qualification in Business, or other relevant discipline
  • Project Management experience in a complex multinational working environment
  • Shipping knowledge, including INCO terms (also including knowledge of transportation of dangerous goods), export control and ITAR
  • Demonstrated ability to seek out relevant opportunities and market the company's products, concepts and services
  • Demonstrated ability to proactively gain knowledge of products, competitors, political and inter-cultural conditions
  • Ability to drive efforts to meet goals and success criterions for business development and marketing tasks
  • Ability to plan/manage/coordinate tasks and business development and activity plans in close cooperation with Management and other relevant functions
  • Fluent in English, and in local/regional language, both orally and written, including inter-cultural understanding
  • PC literacy including use of word processing, spreadsheets, databases, presentation tools, and Google Suite

You will be able to build relationships quickly and effectively within the team and with customers by listening, coaching and motivating them. You will be a skilled multi-tasker with the ability to make calculated decisions with business requirements at front of mind.
